Humanity is a drug, Its the high you get from hanging out with people you enjoy and love being around - joking, laughing, singing, dancing and everything else. It is never enough.
Yet like any drug there is always a fee, like cashing in on an IOU and taking more than what was given. After that incredible high is the other end of the spectrum; the feeling of loneliness and isolation.
So we try and sustain the high even longer, by substituting it in vain with our imagination, stories and games to avoid the awful truth. The truth that we are really alone - yes you know your friends and family but for all the time in the universe you won’t truly know them and they will never truly understand you.
But because of this drug we go back to square one and do it all again because it is the best drug that we shall ever have the pleasure of taking. Thats why people love the nostalgia of photos - a sliver of our memory remains in stasis ever enjoying that high, as we get on with the ups and downs that is the roller coaster of life.
